Marketing Your Spa Locally: Try a Grassroots Approach

There are many different ways to market your spa, from glossy magazine ads to pricey television spots, but they can be expensive.  While these are effective, you might also want to try reaching potential clients in more targeted and less expensive ways.

Start by checking around to see what neighborhoods are nearby.  You can mail out postcards or coupons directly to the residents or place a monthly ad in their neighborhood newsletters.  You might also find out if they have a welcome wagon and donate products or coupons to let new residents know you exist.

Setting up a booth at a local health or crafts fair is another great way to get your spa’s word out and interact with the people in your community.  You might bring a couple of tables and offer free massages to entice potential clients.  You can also sell spa gift baskets or sponsor a raffle that offers free spa services.

There is no substitute for word-of-mouth advertising, so put your clients to work for you by offering discounted services or free products to clients who refer new customers.  No matter what you do, get out into the community and let them know you’re there!
