Offering Water and Fresh Juice in Spa Reception and Lounges Instead of Coffee - Choose Beverages that Refresh AND Hydrate

When it comes to offering beverages to your spa clientele, many spa managers feel obligated to offer a wide range of choices, including those that are not necessarily good for them. In order to give their clients what they want, many spas will offer caffeinated sodas and coffee, sugary juices, or even alcoholic beverages. However, this is not necessarily the best thing to do in a spa environment because it seems to go against the healthy lifestyle and relaxing atmosphere that the spa industry represents.
Offering these types of beverages tend to make people nervous and jittery, which makes it all the more difficult for a person to relax when they’re hopped up on caffeine or sugar. Alcohol might loosen a person up enough to relax during a therapy session, but it can also dehydrate the body quickly, not to mention running the risk of having clients getting drunk while relaxing a little too much.
Instead, try offering only filtered or bottled water, natural juices that don’t have a lot of extra sugar in them, or herbal teas. These beverages will hydrate the body, which is more conducive to the healthy, relaxing, and detoxifying atmosphere that the spa represents.
