Business Advisory Network (BAN)
ISM is always looking to partner with talented professionals and spa industry experts, for our Business Advisory Network (BAN Program). The BAN Program membership with ISM is open to experts and businesses within the spa industry (including day, destination, and medical and alternate spa settings) and complementary businesses (such as equipment, spa product and other companies) that have shown their dedication to providing outstanding service. If you are a spa expert or business of distinction, consider the professional benefits of joining the ISM Business Advisory Network.
Your Important Advisory Role
- Be available, from time to time, to respond to student questions that relate specifically to your area of expertise. Students post questions via the ISM online learning center. Advisors receive an automated email when a question is posted and log in to respond to the student’s query. These are not frequent requests. We have full time tutors and student liaisons that interact with and instruct the students on a regular basis. ISM advisors are most often called upon when a student is completing a written essay assignment, and is searching for knowledgeable guidance from industry experts on a specific topic.
- The ISM curriculum development team may contact you from time to time to ‘pick your brain’ about a new course that is being developed, if it relates to your area of expertise within the Spa Industry.
- Contribute at least 2 articles per calendar year to the Spa Management library for student use (more if you like). These can be tagged with your business information (resource box) as long as the article content is educational and information in nature, and not blatant advertising. All students at ISM have access to this library even after they graduate and are working as spa managers and owners around the world.
Benefits of Becoming a Business Advisor
- Get your company name, products and brand recognition in front of the future of the spa industry: managers, directors and business owners.
- Link your unique spa related business to ISM and connect with influential hotels, spa owners and managers who make daily decisions about business operations and purchasing. Our corporate training clients (hotels and spas) also have access to the ISM Business Advisory Network.
- A Business Advisor listing on the ISM learning website, and in certain cases, included in some of our media and print publications. The listing is in the form of a micro-site or business card page, in our BAN Directory within the ISM online learning center. This includes a small graphical banner, your business information, a brief outline of your services and a link to your website.
There is no charge to become a Business Advisor, nor is it a paid position. It is a mutually beneficial exchange between industry experts and students. We simply ask that before you apply, you can meet the minimum requirements set out above and are as enthusiastic as we are about furthering the Spa Industry and helping students to succeed.
